Gunta
Sloga has been the Director of the Baltic Centre for Media Excellence since
2018. She has won a wide recognition for her work as an editor and
correspondent for many years at the newspaper "Diena" and other media
outlets. Gunta Sloga was the Content Editor at Latvian Public Television, where
she was responsible for introducing high-quality and innovative cultural and
entertainment formats, as well as developing future strategies for the public
service broadcaster. Gunta has always been actively involved in various
non-governmental initiatives, fighting for freedom of speech, media
independence and the rule of law. Gunta has managed the Soros Foundation -
Latvia Media Program, which has supported a number of media development and
capacity building projects in Latvia.
