Rihards Bambals

Rihards Bambals (PhD) has been the Head of Strategic Communications at State Chancellery of Latvia since September 2021. Previously, R.Bambals has served as a career diplomat in Latvian foreign office in several positions related to security policy and strategic communications (2010-2021), including three years at Latvian Permanent Delegation to NATO (2016-2019) and two years at East StratCom Task Force, European External Action Service (2019-2021), working with Russia and EU Eastern Partnership countries. R.Bambals has a doctoral decree from University of Latvia, specialising in international politics and security policy; he has authored several publications on human security; societal resilience; NATO; and EU’s foreign policy.
